PoPIE1929, pronounced “Pow Pie,” is a unique café in American Fork, Utah, serving savory meat pies alongside creamy risottos, handmade pastas, fresh salads, and sides. Built around the idea that great food can be both quick and high quality, PoPIE1929 brings restaurant-quality meals to guests with the added convenience of a drive-thru.
A menu unlike anything nearby
We bring together flavors and dishes from different food traditions. From Korean-inspired Bulgogi Pie to rich risottos, creamy pastas, fresh salads, and satisfying sides, the menu offers something different from the usual café fare. Every dish is made with a focus on quality, flavor, and serving guests efficiently.
The pie that started it all
The story began with pies at local farmers markets in 2024. The concept quickly gained attention, showing there was a place for a restaurant built around savory pies and more. Today, the menu has grown to include pasta, risotto, salads, and sides while keeping the pies at the heart of PoPIE1929.
A Korean-rooted story in American Fork
PoPIE1929 was started by a Korean couple in June 2025. Their connection to Utah began several years earlier, when they came to the area around 2020–2021 to help friends launch a Cupbop location during its COVID-era expansion. After building roots in the community, they began selling pies at farmers markets around 2024, eventually opening PoPIE1929 in American Fork.
In June 2026, John took over the restaurant and continued the concept with a focus on quality food, fast service, and reaching more people in the community.
